In a significant breakthrough, Kotwali PS police successfully solved a house theft case reported from Panpara, Jalpaiguri. The complainant had gone to Siliguri with his family for medical treatment after locking his house. Taking advantage of the absence of the family, miscreants broke open the house lock and almirah and decamped with gold ornaments, silver articles, and cash. Acting swiftly on the complaint, Kotwali PS Case No. 198/26 dated 05.05.2026 u/s 331/305(a) BNS was registered and investigation was taken up immediately. During the course of investigation, IO SI Binay Yadav along with his team arrested a total of 08 accused persons involved in the offence. Based on the interrogation and identification by the accused persons during police remand, stolen gold and silver ornaments worth approximately ₹6 lakh were successfully recovered.
