Crackdown on Illicit Liquor by Jalpaiguri District Police .

As part of its continuous drive against illegal activities, the police team of Matelli PS under Jalpaiguri District Police conducted a special raid on 31.05.2026 in the Matelli Bazar and Chalsa areas under Matelli Police Station. During the operation, police detected and destroyed approximately 40 kg of fermented wash and 12 litres of illicit liquor, preventing the production and distribution of illegal alcohol in the area.
