Acting on credible source information, a team led by SI Binay Yadav, OC Sadar TOP under Kotwali Police Station, Jalpaiguri District Police, successfully intercepted and apprehended a suspected drug trafficker during naka checking in the early hours of 10th June 2026. The accused, identified as Biplab Das @ Dim, was detained while travelling from Siliguri towards Jalpaiguri. During a legally conducted search in the presence of a Gazetted Officer, police recovered:

🔹 648 Proximec-Spas capsules

🔹 72 Spascore-Von capsules

🔹 Total: 720 capsules containing Tramadol Hydrochloride

🔹 Total contraband quantity: 277.2 grams

During interrogation, the accused admitted to procuring and supplying contraband capsules in Jalpaiguri and surrounding areas. He failed to produce any valid documents or authorization for possessing the recovered narcotic substances. The entire search and seizure process was conducted under proper videography, ensuring transparency and adherence to legal procedures. The accused has been arrested, and Kotwali PS Case No. 292/26 dated 10.06.2026 has been registered under Sections 22(C)/29 of the NDPS Act.
