On June 13, 2026, acting on credible information, Rajganj PS team under Jalpaiguri District Police conducted a raid at Ghoshpara, Kalinagar and recovered:

• 57 bottles of country-made liquor (600 ml each)

• 7 bottles of McDowell’s No.1 Whisky (180 ml each)

The liquor was being sold illegally from a house. The accused lady was arrested and a case has been initiated under the Bengal Excise Act.

In another joint raid by OC Excise, Rajganj Circle and Belakoba OP team at Shikarpur Tea Garden areas, approximately 1000 litres of fermented wash kept underground in jungle areas for preparation of illicit liquor was recovered and destroyed on the spot.

Jalpaiguri District Police continues its strict action against illegal liquor trade to ensure public safety.
